Operating conditions
If the cooling water or the low-pressure water temperature is higher than 23.9°C (75°F), cool the water before
use. Water that is too warm is inefficient for cooling and can reduce high-pressure seal life.
Cooling requirements
Refrigeration tons is the heat transfer required at 0°C (32°F) to make 1 short ton (2,000 lb) of ice in 24 hours.
3.5 kW = 1 refrigeration ton = 12,000 Btu/hour
Using a chiller with a water-glycol solution reduces the efficiency of the heat exchanger.
