Fuel system
Inspect the distance piece for crack forma-
tion or other damage that may result in
leakage, which in turn can cause uneven
idling and starting diffi
culties.
With the help of the fuel pump’s bellows
press fuel through the carburettor and fi ll
all ducts with fuel.
Any vapour bubbles that block the ducts
are pushed out.
In doing so helps to start the engine.

Dismantling
1. Remove the carburettor cover and the
air fi lter.
2. Close the choke valve and blow off
any dirt around the carburettor.
3. Disconnect the throttle cable.
4. Dismantle the fuel hoses from the
carburettor and note how they are con-
nected so that the fuel pump works as
intended.
5. Open the choke valve and remove the
carburettor screws. Lift off the air fi lter
holder.

Remove the carburettor cover and the air
fi lter then blow clean around the carburet-
tor
Dismantle the throttle cable and fuel
hoses.

Remove the two screws and lift off the
entire throttle mechanism.
The valve stop screw (B) may need to be
unscrewed a few turns.
Note the sealing ring on the connection
fl ange so that it does not get lost or dam-
aged.

Dismantle the valve mechanism.
If the valve or its bearing are damaged the
entire mechanism should be replaced.
