11 Maintenance
Huntleigh recommends that the Dopplex Ability is serviced at least annually . The following procedure should
be carried out at every service:
11.1 Automatic Service Prompt & Service Report
The dopplex Ability automatically displays a message on the LCD when a service is required, every time the unit
is switched on. On completion of the required service, the engineer should register the service in the memory of
the Ability unit. This is achieved by selecting “Record Service” in the service menu. This automatically cancels
the “service required” message from appearing every time the unit is switched on. The message will not be
displayed again until a year has elapsed since the last recorded service.
NB: The date and time must be maintained correctly for this function to work properly.
A service report can be printed at any time. This contains useful information including a record of the dates of
all services recorded. Services carried out by Huntleigh are identified by the text “HUNTLEIGH”. To obtain a
service report, simply select “Print Service Report” in the service menu. (ensure there is sufficient paper in the
printer). An example service report is shown below:

11.2 Air Filter Replacement
To replace the air filter, disconnect the unit from the mains supply, invert it and remove the single screw
securing the battery cover. Lift out the cover and remove the circular air filter from its housing. Replace with a
new filter and re-fit the battery cover. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN the securing screw.
Only used genuine filters obtained from Huntleigh Healthcare.
11.3 Rechargeable Battery Conditioning or Replacement
In normal use, the battery has a service life of up to two years, but the capacity can be expected to gradually
decrease with age. When the battery capacity is unacceptable, it should be replaced, following the instructions
in section 4.
Warning: Only use the correct battery pack sourced from Huntleigh Healthcare. Using alternative non-
approved batteries will degrade the system safety, and the risk of fire or explosion will be significantly
increased.
It is recommended that when the dopplex Ability battery is replaced the battery is conditioned prior to use.
11.3.1 Connect the unit to mains supply and switch the dopplex Ability on.
11.3.2 Press the button directly below the symbol to access the system settings screen.
