8.6.4 FROST PROTECTION
•
It is essential to protect the unit from damage by frost.
The following
instructions will be adequate to protect the unit to temperatures down to - 5
C.
During winter months it is strongly recommended to store the unit inside whenever
possible.
Filling the system with antifreeze.
•
Drain the main tank and close the valve.
•
Remove the tank filler cap and pour in the premixed antifreeze/water at a maximum
concentration of 25%. It is important that this concentration is not exceeded or
damage to seals may result.
•
Ensure that no lance is fitted to the wash gun.
•
Start the water pump.
•
Open the hand lance valve.
•
Point the gun into the main tank filler and pull the trigger.
•
When antifreeze solution is seen leaving the gun release the trigger.
•
Stop the pump.
•
The system is now filled with antifreeze.
•
Removing the antifreeze.
•
Prepare a suitable vessel to accept the returned anti-freeze solution. (large empty
drum or bucket)
•
Ensure that no lance is fitted to the wash gun.
•
Open the hand lance valve.
•
Start the water pump.
•
Point the gun into the main tank filler and pull the trigger until all the antifreeze
solution is expelled from the system.
•
Stop the pump.
•
If required a quantity of clean water can be put in the tank to flush the system before
commencing bin cleaning.
•
The antifreeze solution can be retained for future use.
