h)
Fill the water tank to maximum fill point (200 litres).
i)
Close and secure the pump chamber tank lid.
j)
Secure any loose equipment, lock all doors and close the
side curtains.
FILLING THE TANK WITH FRESH WATER
The tank is filled by removing the lid on top and using a hose connected to a clean fresh
water supply. Only fill to the designated maximum fill point
8.6 USING THE MACHINE
8.6.1 BIN CLEANING
a)
On arrival at the cleaning site, fully assess the situation and surroundings, notably in
respect of moving vehicles, other persons in the area or nearby, or any other hazard.
b)
Park the trailer/tow vehicle in a safe location in such a way as to facilitate the safe
moving of bins to the rear of the unit, bearing in mind the proximity of other workers,
pedestrians, and other moving vehicles.
c)
Preferably leave the bin cleaning trailer attached to the tow vehicle. If it has to be
uncoupled, do so only on a firm and level surface ensuring that the trailer handbrake
is applied and its rear support legs deployed/lowered.
d)
Ensure that the unit is clear of personnel and obstructions and is generally safe to
operate.
e)
Don the required personal protective equipment (PPE)
f)
Insert key into the operator station STOP button and turn to release.
g)
Turn the engine ignition key switch
fully clockwise to the ‘START’ position to crank the
engine. Immediately the engine starts release the key to spring back to the `ON’
position
.
For starting from cold use the engine choke control if applicable (petrol engines).
h)
Check the bin(s) to ensure they are of an EN840 type handled by the machine, that
they are empty, and have not contained any hazardous waste/material. Also that they
are free from any damage that could cause them to fail to attach correctly, overload
