8.6.2 WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM
The water used for bin cleaning is recycled continuously through a four stage filtration
system as follows:
a) The water first passes through a perforated metal basket which retains all material with a
size above 1.2mm. This metal basket should be cleaned regularly during operation.
b) The second filter panel is positioned within the baffled area and has a spun fibreglass
filter. This filter should be cleaned daily by gentle rinsing only. Do not use a high-
pressure jet or it will be damaged, use a low pressure hose or immerse it. After a period
of use the filter will need to be replaced.
c) The third filtration stage is another filter panel positioned within the baffled area and is
another spun fibreglass construction. This filter should be cleaned daily by gentle rinsing
only. Do not use a high-pressure jet or it will be damaged, use a low pressure hose or
immerse it. After a period of use the filter will need to be replaced.
d)
The next filtration stage is a 1.5” bowl filter located adjacent to the water pump (pump
inlet filter). This should be cleaned daily or as required.
