Fan Speed Adjustment
When the system is fully configured, temperatures reported by the temperature sensors on the
LPUs and MPUs serve as the basis for fan speed adjustment. General principles are listed below:
l
When the ambient temperature is between -5°C and 27°C, fans rotate at a low speed, that
is, 45% Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) and 55% rotational speed.
l
When the ambient temperature is between 27°C and 45°C, fan speed increases or decreases
in tandem with temperature movements.
l
When the ambient temperature is above 45°C, fans rotate at a high speed, that is, 100%
Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) and 100% rotational speed.
–
When the ambient temperature is 27°C or below, fans rotate at a fixed low speed, which
meets the ETSI noise requirement and the heat dissipation requirement.
–
When the ambient temperature is between 27°C and 45°C, the speed of fans is adjusted
smoothly in linear mode, and there are slight changes in noise levels.
–
When the ambient temperature is above 45°C, fans rotate at a high speed, meeting the
heat dissipation requirements.
4.7.3 Air Filter
This section describes the appearance of the air filter.
The air filter of the E8000E-X3 is located on the left rear of the chassis, as shown in
.

NOTE
The air filter of the E8000E-X3 can be bent, which facilitates the maintenance within a limited space in
the rear of the chassis.
