
CAUTION:
To prevent possible compute module malfunction, do not mix processors of different speeds or cache
sizes. Refer to the label on the processor heatsink for a description of the processor.
CAUTION:
To prevent possible compute module overheating, always populate each processor socket with a
processor socket cover and a heatsink blank or a processor and a heatsink.
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to electrical components, properly ground the compute module before beginning
any installation procedure. Improper grounding can cause ESD.
IMPORTANT:
Processor socket 1 must always be populated. If processor socket 1 is empty, the compute module
does not power up.

To remove the component:
Procedure
1.
Update the system ROM.
Locate and download the latest ROM version from the
Hewlett Packard Enterprise Support Center
. Follow the instructions on the website to update the system ROM.
2. Power down the compute module

Open each of the processor locking levers in the order indicated, and then open the processor retaining
bracket.
