2. Extend or remove the server from the rack ("Extending the Server from the
Rack" on page 38).
3. Remove the access panel ("Removing the Access Panel" on page 40).
4. Remove the PCI riser cage ("Removing the PCI Riser Cage" on page 40).
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the server or expansion
boards, power down the server and remove all AC power cords before
removing or installing the PCI riser cage.
5. Remove the expansion slot cover.
CAUTION:
To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage,
do not operate the server unless all PCI slots have either an expansion
slot cover or an expansion board installed.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
Removing Expansion Slot Covers 2 and 3
1. Extend or remove the server from the rack ("Extending the Server from the

2. Remove the access panel ("Removing the Access Panel" on page 40).
