Removal and replacement procedures
Display assembly

The display assembly spare part kit includes cables, nameplate, and logo.
Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on,
and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
“Battery” on page 4-6
).
5. Disconnect the wireless antenna cables from the WLAN module (see
“WLAN module” on page 4-12
) and
WWAN module (see
“WWAN module” on page 4-11
).
6. Remove the keyboard (see
“Keyboard” on page 4-16
).
7. Remove the top cover (see
“Top cover” on page 4-19
).
Remove the display assembly:
1. Close the computer.
2. Turn the computer display-side up, with the front toward you.
3. Disconnect and remove the WLAN cables

from the clips

built into the base enclosure.
4. Disconnect the display panel cable

from the system board.
5. Disconnect and remove the WWAN cables

from the system board.
6. Disconnect and remove the camera cable

from the system board.
