Chapter 6

Replacing Parts

Removing the Flexible Disk Drive

8. Pull the flexible disk drive forward and out of the chassis.

9. Remove the four screws securing the flexible disk drive mounting guides to the flexible disk

drive.

10. Remove the flexible disk drive mounting guides from the flexible disk drive and store them for

future use.

11. Place the flexible disk drive in an anti-static bag.

Replacing the Flexible Disk Drive

1. If not already mounted, use four screws to install mounting guides on the flexible disk drive.

2. With the cable connectors toward the rear of the chassis, guide the mounted drive into the

chassis opening. (The flexible disk drive is normally mounted in the top-most shelf.)

3. Attach the drive and mount by securing the two screws at the chassis front.

4. At the rear of the flexible disk drive, carefully connect the power and data cables.

5. Replace the bezel.

6. Replace the cover.

7. Replace the six thumbscrews securing the cover to the chassis.

8. Replace the external cables and power cord.

9. Power up the NetServer as described in Chapter 1.
