Removing a DIMM
Use the following procedure to remove a failed DIMM from the server blade.
NOTE:
The two sets of DIMM slots closer to the front of the server blade have air baffles around
them. The two sets of DIMM slots toward the rear of the server blade do not have air baffles around
them.
1.
Power down the server blade and remove it from the enclosure.

2.
Remove the left access panel.

NOTE:
The server blade ships with at least four DIMMs installed. They are installed in slots
0A, 0B, 0C, and 0D.
3.
Locate the DIMM slots on the server blade system board.

4.
Remove the DIMM air baffle around the DIMM slots where the failed DIMM is located (if
necessary).
5.
Open the DIMM slot latches for the DIMM you are removing.
6.
Remove the DIMM from the slot.
IMPORTANT:
DIMMs
must
be installed in identical quads.
DIMMs do not seat fully if turned the wrong way.
DIMM Installation Order
The DIMM installation order is as follows:
1.
Slots DIMM 0A through DIMM 0D
2.
Slots DIMM 1A and DIMM 1D
3.
Slots DIMM 2A and DIMM 2D
