Fan/heat sink assembly (includes replacement thermal material)

Before removing the fan/heat sink assembly, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 46
).
5.
Remove the keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 62
).
6.
Remove the switch cover (see
Switch cover on page 69
).
Remove the fan/heat sink assembly:
1.
Disconnect the fan cable
(1)
from the system board.
2.
Remove the Torx T8M2.5×7.0 screw
(2)
that secures the fan/heat sink assembly to the
computer.
3.
Loosen the four Torx T8M2.0×10.0 screws
(3)
that secure the fan/heat sink assembly to the
computer.
4.
Lift the front edge of the fan/heat sink assembly
(1)
to disengage it from the system board and
graphics card.
