CASTOR ADJUSTMENT
S
ummary:
This service instruction outlines the procedure to adjust a Linea castor.
The castor needs adjusting if:
• A clicking sound is heard while the bed is moving
• The brakes are slipping when engaged.
• It wont correctly engage into steer mode.
Tools Required:
• 4mm Hex key
• scissor jack (To elevate one end of the bed)
• 10mm Hex key (for adjusting castor position without pedal (see page 31))
Location:
The castors are located at the corners of the bogie.
Procedure:
1. Set castors to neutral position (brake pedal horizontal).
2. Using a scissor jack or equivalent, lift one end of the bed
so that the castor can be accessed.
3. Insert 4mm Hex key into hole as shown (A) Figure 16.
4. Carefully adjust caster until a slight clicking noise is heard
when rotating the wheel, then wind clockwise 1/2 turn to
finish adjustment
NOTE:
To adjust braking gears apart, rotate the hex key
Clockwise, as shown in Figure 16.
To adjust braking gears closer, rotate the hex key Anticlockwise,
opposite to the direction in Image 1.
5. Verify correct operation of the brake (red pedal down).
When under load, the castor should not rotate.
6. Verify correct operation neutral (horizontal pedal) and
steer (green pedal down). No noise should be heard when
rotating the castors.
