7. SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Using an 11mm hex key in the castor pintle mechanism,
crank until the castor is in the brake position. When in
brake position, the wheel will not rotate.
NOTE:
When reinserting castor into bogie, it is
important to align the castor pintle correctly.
Hold pintle in position ready to assemble. Crank
brake mechanism with hex key (C) towards foot
end as shown in Figure 15. If castor is braked
then pintle is in correct orientation. Install in this
orientation.
If the castor is freewheeling then turn pintle 180°
and again crank brake mechanism with hex key
towards foot end. Castor should be braked,
install in this orientation.
2. Finish installing the new castor by reversing the procedure
from step 4.
3. Verify correct operation of the brake, neutral and steer
functions before returning the stretcher to service.
