Entering Quantity
The fertilizer quantity is controlled with the
control valve (3) through the E-Manager.
To set the quantity go to the second work
screen and enter the gallons per acre you
want to apply in the rated value area.
Orifices
Two orifice sizes are supplied with the planter
39 and 51. The planter comes with size 39
assembled at the nozzle bodies.
System pressure should be in the
3
0 to
6
0 psi
range to insure proper distribution across all
rows. If the system pressure is below this for
the quantity of fertilizer you are applying use a
smaller orifice. If the pressure is too high use a
larger orifice.
The same size orifice must be used on all rows.
Calibration
The calibration factor is set as a defalt value
from the manufacturer. The calibration factor
is the number of impulses received from the
flow meter per gallon. The value will be
around 170 for the standard flow meter.
This value may need to be adjusted depending
on the fertilizer being applied.
When you first start planting fill the tank with a
known quantity of liquid. Plant untill the known
quantity has been applied, and compare the
value shown in the results page with the
actual quantity applied.
If the quantity is off adjust the calibration
factor by the same percent the quantity is
off by.
Example:
You plant a known quantity of 100 gallons
and the results say 98 gallons.
98/100 = 98%
If the calibration factor was 170
170 / 98% = 173.4
So set the calibration factor to 173
