Fan - vacuum
The hydraulic fan for vacuum generation is di-
rectly driven by the tractor hydraulics.
valve to control the fan speed.
prevent the fan speed dropping, even when the
tractor speed drops or other hydraulic functions
are activated.
In the Maestro 12 SW the vacuum fan is centrally
installed in the seed wagon and in the Maestro
24 SW both vacuum fans are mounted directly
on the main frame of the lateral wings.
The fans in the Maestro 24 SW are driven in
series. The vacuum in each wing should
be equal.
Vacuum is essential for the function of the single
grain metering unit.
Vacuum is generated in the fan and directed to
the metering units through the hose system and
the frame integrated distribution.
All components of the vacuum system
must therefore be absolutely leak tight.
Leaks lead to metering errors.
Always pay attention to residues in
the system when cleaning or perform-
ing repair work. Wear safety goggles,
breathing masks and safety gloves!
The extraction of residues from the metering
unit can result in the depositing of harmful dust
(seed coating).
In order to protect the environment, any loose
dust is extracted during operation
and placed on the ground in front of the coulter.
Maintenance
Clean any dirt or deposits from the fan blades
to prevent unbalance and damage to impeller
and tapered bushing.
Check hoses and connections every day.
Depending on the amount of dust developing
during use, open the frame regularly (weekly)
and clean frame and hoses with compressed air.
Damaged hoses, kinked hoses, or
defec-
tive connections must be immediately
replaced or repaired.
