Is the backgauge plate is parallel to the knife?

■
The backgauge is moved by turning the right and left
feed screws. If the pulleys are not locked on the feed
screws firmly, the backgauge does not move parallel.
• If the backgauge is little skew, go to (1).
• If the backgauge is skew too much, go to (2).
(
1
) See page 33 and adjust the angle of the backgauge
using the allowance of the screw holes where the back-
gauge and the feed blocks are mounted.
(
2
) See page 33 and adjust the timing pulleys on the feed
screws so that the backgauge moves parallel to the
knife.
Is the backgauge plate is tilted?

■
If the backgauge plate does not move smoothly,
it makes a gap as shown in the drawing above.
In this case, skew cut will occur. The backgauge
plate is always pressed against the frame by the
spring. (See the left column on the previous page.)
If the backgauge cannot be moved smoothly us-
ing the sheet pusher lever, check the following.
•
The three slide shafts are locked on the backgauge plate.
(See the left column in the page 24.)
•
The two bearings are mounted correctly.
•
Nothing is between the backgauge plate and the frame.
•
The bottom of the backgauge plate does not rub the grooves
on the back table.
If there is a gap, skew
cut occurs.
