4.1 pH (ORP) Electrode Maintenance

Washing electrodes
If the tip of the pH electrode is extremely dirty, response
speed may become slow and it may cause errors in
measurement value.
If the electrode is so dirty that it cannot be cleaned by
rinsing with pure water (deionized), wash the electrode
using the methods below depending the dirt.
General dirt & oily grime
Wipe the dirt/grime off using cotton gauze absorbed with
neutral detergent.
Inorganic grime
Rinse the tip using a hydrochloric acid solution of
approximately 1 mol/L or a wash solution (model 220).
Be sure not to soak the electrode in strong acid for a
long period of time.
