ILLUSTRATED PARTS LIST
1. Introduction
CAUTION: ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE SENSITIVE (ESDS) DEVICES ARE SUBJECT TO DAM-
AGE BY EXCESSIVE LEVELS OF VOLTAGE. REFER TO DOD-HDBK-263 FOR PROPER
HANDLING PROCEDURES.
The Illustrated Parts List (IPL) provides a breakdown of the equipment covered by this manual.
All parts are listed in order of disassembly, showing relationships to higher and lower assemblies,
and are identified by corresponding index numbers on exploded-view illustrations.
All items are assigned an item number. Parts listed but not illustrated are identified by a dash –
preceding the item number.
For identification of detail parts and assemblies, the NOMENCLATURE column employs the in-
denture system. Each assembly is listed with its detail parts listed in the next indenture below and
to the right. Conversely, the next higher assembly of any detail part may be determined by its lo-
cation in the indenture above and to the left.
Attaching parts immediately follow the part or assembly they attach, and have the same inden-
ture. They are preceded by the words ATTACHING PARTS, and followed by 3 asterisks * * *.
Effectivity codes (A, B, C, etc.) are assigned, and listed in the EFF CODE column, when 2 or more
similar assemblies are broken down in the same IPL figure. These codes show that a part or sub-
assembly is used only on the assembly(ies) with the same effectivity code(s). A part or subas-
sembly with no effectivity code is used on all of the assemblies listed in that IPL figure.
Although the same effectivity codes (A, B, C, etc.) may be used in more than 1 IPL figure, there
is no relation between the codes of 1 figure and the codes of any other figure.
To determine end-item effectivity; i.e., on which end item a part, subassembly, or assembly is
used when multiple end items are listed, find the effectivity code(s) of the item in question. This
leads to the assembly(ies) on which the item is used, to the Next Higher Assembly (NHA), etc.,
and subsequently, to the end-item figure and the end item(s).
Unless otherwise indicated by a vendor code number in parentheses following the part name in
the parts list, all parts are either commercial standard, military standard, or Honeywell parts.
2. Definitions
The following is a list of terms, their abbreviations (if applicable), and interpretations of how they
are used in the IPL of this manual.
If the usage of any of the following terms is the result of a service bulletin, it is noted in the NO-
MENCLATURE column preceding the term statement. Example: (PRE SB 4)(SUPSD BY XX) or
(POST SB 4)(SUPSDS XX).
• ALTERNATE (ALT)
Indicates a part, subassembly, or assembly that fully meets required func-
tional and structural specifications, but differs in overall dimensions, connections, installation or
mounting provisions, and requires modification to install in a specific application. An alternate
item is listed in the FIG-ITEM column as a variant and identified in the NOMENCLATURE col-
umn as "(ALT TO XX)".
• OPTIONAL (OPT)
Indicates a choice of interchangeable parts, subassemblies, assemblies, or
units that meet or exceed required functional and structural specifications for a given applica-
tion. Overall dimensions and connections may vary, provided that installation or mounting does
