W7600 CONTROL MODULE CONFIGURATION
VIA PERSONAL COMPUTER
This section provides limited discussion of the configu-
ration of the W7600 Control Module after installing the
PM7600B software for variable air volume applications.
For more information, refer to the ZM7601/ZM7603 Con-
figuration Tool Software Specification.
NOTE: The controller type selected
must
be Networkable
W7600 in the ZM7601 or ZM7603 software.
As noted, configuring the W7600 requires that the
ZM7601 or ZM7603 Configuration Tool Software be in-
stalled on an IBM® PC-AT™ compatible PC (personal
computer). Using this software, the input and output vari-
ables previously listed can be configured to a W7600. After
downloading the configuration program to the W7600,
allow power to remain on to the W7600 for at least 90
seconds before disconnecting power.
After the W7600 and all source and destination points in
the site network are configured, the datasharing points to
be used in Q7640 Network Interface Unit functions can be
configured in the Q7640 Network Interface Unit.
For com-
plete information on configuring datasharing points, see
Configuring the Network Interface Unit in the ZM7601/
ZM7603 Software User’s Guide, form 63-4272. The CNAP
System Application Manual also provides information on
datasharing and network system integration.
DIGITAL INPUTS
Digital inputs are chosen from the list of options and
defined to a specific digital input on the W7600 or W7601
modules. It is then possible to specify whether the digital
input is a normally open or normally closed point. ON =
Input Active; OFF = Input Inactive. The physical state of
the digital input contact, when the contact is active, is
determined with the ZM7601 or ZM7603 Configuration
Tool Software. The S7600 displays ACTIVE or INAC-
TIVE, depending on the state of the input and how it is
configured. For example, a system safety input could be
configured to be open during normal operation and closed
when the system safety is active. In this case, with the input
ON, the contact would be closed and the W7600 would
initiate the system safety sequence.
ANALOG INPUTS
Like digital inputs, analog inputs are chosen and defined
in hardware. The specification process for analog inputs
also requires the following parameters:
• Volts, ohms or current.
• Input low and high value (volts, ohms or current).
• Input low and high reference points.
• Input minimum and maximum out-of-range limits
(volts, ohms or current).
• Input minimum and maximum engineering unit lim-
its.
DIGITAL OUTPUTS
Digital outputs are chosen from the list of options and
defined to a specific digital output channel on the W7600 or
W7601 modules. It is then possible to wire the digital output
as a normally open or normally closed point at the R7600
Relay Module.
ANALOG OUTPUTS
Analog outputs are chosen and defined in hardware
which is also true for digital outputs. The specification
process for analog outputs also requires the following pa-
rameters:
• Output low value (volts or mA).
• Output high value (volts or mA).
• Proportional or inverse operation.
REMOTE INPUTS
Remote inputs are assigned control numbers just like the
inputs that are physically wired to the W7600. Remote
inputs are also configured in the ZM7601/ZM7603 Soft-
ware. The remote input configuration screens appear after
the physical input screens. The remote input screens indi-
cate Remote Input Number beneath the Input Number on
the screen.
MONITORING THE W7600 VIA S7600
The Network Compatible S7600A 2XXX is the only
Keyboard Display Module that can be used with Net-
work Compatible W7600A-F Control Modules.
The S7600 connects to the W7600 with a 7-wire cable.
The 7-wire cable uses two wires for 24 Vac power, one wire
for earth ground, and four wires to provide two-way com-
munication between the W7600/W7601 and the S7600. The
screens displayed on the S7600 are compatible with all
Network Compatible models of the W7600/W7601 and the
PM7600B. After the PM7600B EPROM is installed into the
W7600 Control Module and the control system is properly
configured using the ZM7601 Configuration Tool Software
and a PC, apply power to the W7600.
After applying power, the system takes five to thirty
seconds to complete a self-test and data loading process.
This procedure ensures that all the W7600 system compo-
nents are properly wired, configured and the internal cir-
cuitry is operational.
After the self-check mode is completed, the S7600 dis-
plays the run screen. This run screen is determined by the
PM7600B program that is installed in the W7600. At this
point, it is possible to begin the monitoring and program-
ming process through the S7600. An illustration of this
process, using the variable air volume run screens, is shown
at the end of this section.
S7600A KEYBOARD
The keyboard of the S7600A consists of 13 keys. Some
keys initiate programming while others allow movement
through the program menus and data fields. PROGRAM
initiates the program mode. RUN and REVIEW initiate the
