and the alarm is scrolled on the S7600. At this point, the
alarm is active and unacknowledged by the S7600. If the
condition that caused the alarm goes away (alarm is no
longer active), it is not scrolled by the S7600 but it is still
unacknowledged and the alarm output is still on. If the
alarm is acknowledged via the S7600

key or
the alarm silence digital input (clearing the unacknowl-
edged alarm), the alarm output is turned off. If the alarm is
acknowledged when the alarm condition is still active, the
alarm output is turned off and the alarm message is on the
S7600 acknowledged alarms list. The alarm output is not
turned on again until either a new alarm occurs or the
original alarm condition goes away and then returns. Ac-
tive alarms are scrolled by the S7600 regardless of whether
or not they were silenced. The S7600 alarm history may be
reviewed under the

key menu. Any alarm can be
cleared after the system is repaired. The W7600 alarms can
be viewed on the CNAP network and alarms can be ac-
knowledged and cleared by CNAP.
If a local user acknowledges an alarm through the
S7600A, it is only acknowledged locally. If a remote user
acknowledges an alarm through ZM7601/ZM7603 Soft-
ware, it is only acknowledged remotely. These two ac-
knowledgment processes are totally separate.
WHEN INSTALLING THIS PRODUCT
1. Read these instructions carefully. Failure to follow
them could damage the product or cause a hazardous condi-
tion.
2. Check the ratings given in the instructions and on the
product to make sure that the product is suitable for user
application.
3. The installer must be a trained, experienced service or
installation technician.
4. After installation is complete, check system operation
as provided in these instructions.
CAUTION
1. Disconnect power supply before beginning in-
stallation to prevent electrical shock and/or
equipment damage.
2. Before touching any electronic components,
discharge any static from your body by touch-
ing an earth ground point. Static charges pro-
duce voltages high enough to damage elec-
tronic components of the W7600.
3. Do not plug or unplug any EPROMs, modules,
assemblies, relays, ribbon cables or other compo-
nents with power applied to the W7600. The
power must be off to prevent equipment damage.
Location of the PM7600
EPROM
The PM7600B EPROM is located beneath the plastic
cover of the W7600 Control Module. Installation requires
that the cover be removed to expose the internal circuit
board. To remove the entire cover of the W7600 to expose
the circuit board, remove the screws on the back of the
W7600 metal base plate and dislodge the cover from the
circuit board and base plate. The EPROM is located in the
center of the circuit board (see Fig. 4).
Install the PM7600 EPROM as follows:
1. Place the circuit breaker for the W7600 power trans-
former in the OFF position and wait 30 seconds.
2. If the W7600 has a removable top cover, lift it off the
device and proceed to step 4. If the W7600 does not have a
removable top cover, proceed to step 3.
3. Remove the W7600 Control Module from the pack-
age or its mounting. Lay the device face down on a flat
working surface. Remove the screws from the backing plate
and remove the backing plate. Taking care not to disturb the
electronic components on the circuit board, remove the
cover of the W7600 from the circuit board.
4. Discharge any static electricity by touching an earth
ground point.
5. If applicable, remove the existing PM7600 as shown
in Fig. 5.
6. Inspect the EPROM pins and socket before installa-
tion (see Figs. 6 and 7).

7. Install the new PM7600 Program Module into the
socket on the W7600 circuit board. Make sure the EPROM
orientation notch is aligned with the orientation notch on the
socket. Slowly push the EPROM into the socket (sometimes
a slight rocking action can assist installation). Be very careful
not to bend any EPROM pins when installing (see Fig. 8).
8. Visually inspect the installation (see Fig. 8). Be sure
the EPROM orientation notch is matched with the orienta-
