Operation
1. Start the engine (see pages 45 through 48).
2. Select the snow clearing work mode.
– 1. Check that the main shift lever is in the N (neutral) position.
– 2. Select the appropriate work mode to clear the snow by pushing
the ICS switch to either the ON or OFF position (HSM1380i)./
turning the mode selector switch to either the SELF, POWER, or
AUTO position (HSM1390i).
Note that the operation and performance of the snow thrower differ
according to the work mode you select. Select the appropriate work
mode for your situation (see pages 21 through 23 for the
characteristics of each mode).
Tips for selecting the work mode:
AUTO mode (HSM1390i): see page 22.
1) Not familiar with operating the snow thrower.
2) Does not want to operate the various switches while clearing the
snow.
3) Want to clear the snow as quietly as possible.
4) Want the auger to rise up as little as possible.
ON (HSM1380i)/POWER (HSM1390i) mode: see pages 21 and 23.
1) Want to adjust the traveling speed automatically according to the
workload while clearing the snow.
2) Want to throw the snow far from the snow thrower.
3) Want to finish clearing the snow as quickly as possible.
OFF (HSM1380i)/SELF (HSM1390i) mode: see pages 21 and 23.
Want to operate the switches as you like.
