CYLINDER HEAD/VALVES 

CYLINDER HEAD REMOVAL 

Remove the intake manifold. Remove the cam 

chain tensioner bolt and remove the cylinder 

head. 

CAUTION 

To prevent damage to the cylinder head, 

pry only at the cutout of cylinder gasket. 

Remove the cylinder gasket, dowel pins and 

O-rings. 

CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY 

Remove the valve spring cotters, retainers, 

springs and valves. 

N O T E 

• Do not compress the valve springs 

more than necessary to remove the 

valve spring cotters. 

• Mark all disassembled parts to insure 

original assembly.
