14.2 Initial activities
14.2.1 Sanding belt placing
 Open or remove the covers /fig. 6, А ,
B , C and D / of the grinding band;
 Loosen the pulling device of the band
through the lever;
 Open the two grinding catches J and I
and put the new grinding band;
 Follow the direction of rotation
indicated by the arrow on the reverse
side of the sandpaper;
 Unlock and close the two grinding
supports J and I . Avoid squeezing the
grinding band;
 Pull slowly the band;
 Switch on machine for a short time and
control the motion of the sanding belt
by the screw Е on the leading (free)
roll. The grinding band must run
through the middle part of the free roll;
 Close or assemble back the covers on
the grinding band.
14.2.2 Shifting the base operation board (grinding support) by height
 Loosen the tightening handle F (fig. 6), placed at the right of the hand wheel H;
 Shift the grinding base G in the desired direction by means of the hand wheel H;
 Tighten the handle F .
14.2.3 Shifting of the base operation board (grinding support) transversally
 Loosen the tightening handle P (fig. 6), placed under the base board;
 Push or pull the base board in the desired direction;
 Tighten the handle P .
 Take care to avoid striking the base board to the grinding catches I and J .
14.2.4 Tilting of grinding device
 Loosen the tightening handle K (fig. 6), situated at the left side of machine’s support;
 Tilt the grinding device in the desired degree, reading by ruler Q , by means of the left
hand wheel L ;
 Tighten the handle К .
14.2.5 Adjusting for grinding the veneered edges
For this is necessary to mounting the device for grinding the veneered edges in following way:
 Pull completely the grinding support G (fig. 6).
 Loosen band pulling device by means of the lever.
 Insert the grinding shoe C (fig.7) with the supporting rolls between the grinding band and
the casing of the flat grinding unit in holes A and tighten the handle B . The position of the
