Steam Exhaust Hose Inspection
Objective
Ensure that the steam exhaust hose is properly venting steam out the top rear of the fryer.
Steam should be routed from the condensation box to the outlet at the top of the fryer without
any steam leaks. Loose, missing, or damaged steam exhaust hoses are one of the leading causes
of oil and grease build up on the cables, pulleys and rollers for the lid system. This grease build
up can cause the lid to be hard to move up and down. Part numbers for each specific model of
8-head fryer can be found in the parts section of that model’s technical manual.
Inspection
1.
Verify the exhaust stack is not missing or damaged in such a way that would allow steam to
escape in the rear of the fryer. Replace any damaged or missing exhaust hose following the
procedure below.
2.
Replace any missing, or damaged clamp and mounting screws where the hose attaches to the
condensation box and hose attaches to the rear shroud.
Procedure
1.
Remove the clamp and mounting screw / clamp in figure 1.
2.
Remove and discard the old steam exhaust hose.
3.
Install the new hose fastening the mounting screw and the clamp as shown in figure 1.
