Re-setting the
‘System Cut-Out’ :
Below the control panel there is a small label marked
‘Cut-Out - Press to re-set’ next to a small hole. Through the
hole is a re-set button which should be depressed to
‘re-set’ the System cut-out.
If, after pressing the
‘Cut-Out re-set’ button, the ‘SYSTEM CUT-OUT’ neon remains lit, then this indicates that
the refrigerant has escaped. Please contact Heatstar for advice.
If the
‘SYSTEM CUT-OUT’ neon goes off, then the fault has been corrected and was due to ‘over heating’ of the
circuit.
Please note that the
‘HEATING’ neon may not be lit immediately for this will be subject to, firstly, the temperature
setting being high enough and, secondly, the 6 minutes time delay period.
Heat pump
‘Over heating’ is caused by a problem with inadequate pool water flow or air in the pool filtration
circuit.
It is simply a reflection that all the heat generated by the Heatstar unit is not being carried away by the flow of
pool water.
If the problem persists, as a test, try switching the multiport valve on the pool filter to
‘re-circ’ for a short period.
This will serve to by-pass the pool filter with the effect that the overall flow of pool water will be increased. If this
resolves the problem, then there is definitely some problem with the pool filtration circuit.
WATER LEAK FROM HEATSTAR UNIT :
The Heatstar unit will normally contain water from the pool and condensate water from the refrigerated coil.
If a water leak is suspected within the Heatstar unit, check that :
-
The water condensate drain pipe is not blocked, causing the internal collection tray to over flow.
-
That there is a U-bend trap on the water condensate drain pipe.
If an internal pool water leak is suspected, isolate the Heatstar unit electrically and remove the access panel
below the controls :
Pool water :
To test the internal pool water pipe work, with the pool water circulating pump running :
-
Observe for any signs of moisture.
If a leak is apparent within the Heatstar unit, please contact Heatstar for advice.
If installed in line with the recommendations made within this manual, it should be possible to isolate the
Heatstar unit from the pool water circuit using the by-pass valves, enabling the filtration circuit to function
normally.
Please note that, under certain conditions, a limit amount of water may be produced from the base of the
Heatstar unit.
