Easy-Touch Tension™ presets
You can configure top-thread tension presets for three types of thread. For example, one setting might be
for a 50-weight thread, one for a 30-weight thread, and one for monofilament thread. After you establish
the tension presets, select the tension setting to use on the Main screen as shown below.
To customize the Easy-Touch Tension™ presets
As described in
Bobbin and Bobbin Tension
in the
Using Your Machine
section of this manual, make sure
your bobbin tension is properly set before adjusting the top tension.
Thread the machine with the thread for which you want to define a top-thread tension preset. Follow the
steps for setting the top-thread tension (see
Easy-Touch Tension™
in the
Using Your Machine
section of this
manual). When you are happy with the stitching, note the tension value on the Electronic Tension Button
and follow the steps below to save it as a preset.
1. Touch the
Settings
icon in the toolbar. Then touch the
Configure Tension Presets
button to open the
Tension Presets screen.
2. Press the plus (+) or minus (–) buttons to increase or decrease the settings for one of the three settings
until it matches the tension value you want to use. (You should have already tested the tension to

further fine tune it if
needed by pressing
the plus (+) or minus
(–) buttons.
Select the Easy-Touch
Tension button to
choose a tension
setting. The button
changes to green and
the center section of
the screen displays
the tension presets.
Press to decrease
the tension
preset value.
