EXTERNAL ZONES - CONTROL CHANGE
Turns transmission of Volume and Pan parameters for each Exter-
nal Zone “ON” and “OFF.”
Other parameters such as Note, Expression and Damper are set
using the ZONES FUNCTION Mode.

KEYBOARD CHANNEL
This allows you to select the MIDI channel for each Keyboard
Channel. The setting range is 1 through 16 and OF. At OF, there
is no transmission.

TX UPPER
This allows you to select the MIDI Channel on which the UPPER
Keyboard Channel will transmit.
NOTE: The UPPER Keyboard Channel will transmit Note data,
Controller data, and Leslie data.

TX LOWER
This allows you to select the MIDI Channel on which the LOWER
Keyboard Channel will transmit.

TX PEDAL
This allows you to select the MIDI Channel on which the PEDAL
Keyboard Channel will transmit.

RX UPPER
This allows you to select the MIDI Channel on which the UPPER
Keyboard Channel will receive.
NOTE: The UPPER Keyboard Channel will receive Note data, Con-
troller data, and Leslie data.

RX LOWER
This allows you to select the MIDI Channel on which the LOWER
Keyboard Channel will transmit.

RX PEDAL
This allows you to select the MIDI Channel on which the PEDAL
Keyboard Channel will transmit.

TX MULTI CONTACT

RX MULTI CONTACT
These parameters allow you to select whether the Multi-Contacts
will transmit or receive MIDI data.
When “ON,” each contact will transmit on the MIDI channels
listed below regardless of the setting of the MIDI Channel patram-
eter.

NOTE: To avoid confusion of MIDI signals, set each MIDI Channel
for Keyboard Channels and External Zones to different num-
bers from the ones listed above.

SYSTEM EXCLUSIVE MESSAGE

DEVICE ID
This allows you to set the Device ID when transmitting System
Exclusive (Sysx) messages such as Memory Dump (#21, 22).
Hammond’s ID number is 55h.)

RECEIVE DUMP
This allows you to turn reception of Memory Dump “ON” or
“OFF.”
On the XK-5, the total onboard memory can be transmitted as a
Memory Dump, as Sysx messages. To prevent reception of Mem-
ory Dump data, turn this parameter “OFF.”

TEMPORARY DUMP
This allows you to send a Memory Dump.
Pressing the [ENTER] Touch Button will transmit Patch Param-
eters, Global Parameters, System Parameters and the current set-
ting of the controls. The contents of each Patch as well as Leslie
Cabinets are not transmitted in this mode.
IMPORTANT: Recording a Temporary dump before you record a
performance to an external sequencer avoids setting mismatch-
ing when the sequence is played back.

ALL DUMP
This allows you to send a Full Memory Dump.
Pressing the [ENTER] Touch Button in this mode, transmits all
the settings through the MIDI OUT and USB TO HOST jack.
NOTE: Memory Dump data is transmitted through both the MIDI
OUT and USB TO HOST ports.
NOTE: None of these settings are Patche Parameters. They are
recorded upon setting, and are common at all Patches.
