8.6 Servicing the Manifold
Whenever it is suspected that some product may have entered the manifold, manifold
and electro valves require cleaning and testing. Product seen in the transparent lines
connected to the manifold means that electro valves inside may be leaking.
Manifold reservoir
• Using an appropriate sized coin, unscrew the round cap on right side of the
manifold.
• Check for presence of product, as it might have penetrated beyond valve B.
• Carefully clean the housing, then screw round cap back in place.
Pressure sensor
• Remove 4 Allen screws on left side cover, and remove cover.
• Remove the pressure sensor.
• Check for presence of product as it might have penetrated beyond valve C.
Electro valves “A” “B” “C” and “D”
• Remove 4 Allen screws on manifold top, and gently pull cover away, paying
attention to the connections inside.
• Identify and remove the electro valves' screws.
• Install the electro valve on optional cleaning device.
• Either leave the valves connected to the piercer, with the instrument operating on
"Continuous Purge" (which opens the normally closed valves), or connect the
valve leads to 12V DC).
• Clean with clean tap water, followed by alcohol if available, and blow dry.
• Rinse the manifold channels the same way.
• Replace all seals and O-rings, paying attention to correct placement.
• Let the instrument run the continuous purge function.
