=> Lower the piercing lever and pierce the package.
Once the package is pierced, the pressure change gives a signal to start the analysis
sequence. The instrument checks the package specifications, as entered in the
"Package Selection" in the PC OrbiPack software.
If the specification received indicates that there has been a change in package type, a
"Package has changed" message displays briefly, then the measurement sequence
continues with the new parameters.
Note:
If communication with the PC fails, the instrument displays a
Check Reception
message and waits for the link to be re-established. This message may also appear
during normal operation, when the instrument and the computer are synchronizing
automatically.
4.2 Headspace (HS) Measurement
Note:
Headspace volume measurement can be disabled in the package setup on OrbiPack
software
The instrument displays the
Pierced Measuring HS P,V
message indicating the start of
headspace measurement. This is followed by a display of the current headspace
pressure (P2) and manifold temperature T1.
The forcing gas is then allowed into the reference volume reservoir, and pressure in the
reference volume is measured for later reference. The instrument displays the forcing
gas pressure (P3) and manifold temperature.
