always pre-taut guaranteeing problem-free sliding up and down of the guided type fall arrester (see pic. 2/page 7).
6.3 When using the sharp edge rope „EDGER“ as lanyard:
The lanyard has to be attached to the work positioning belt as follows: connect the end loops with both fall arrester eyelets of the
work positioning belt/full body harness. The necessary length can be adjusted with the rope adjuster. The following rope adjusters are
tested in combination with the sharp edge rope „EDGER“:
•
rope adjuster euroline® „EDGER“
•
ART Positioner 2
•
ISC Mini Ropegrab (available as version with screw and as version with pin)
•
ISC Maxi Grab (available as version with screw and as version with pin)
•
Petzl Microcender and Petzl Micrograb (version with screw and version with pin)
The combination of other rope adjusters or any other guided type fall arresters is not certified and occurs at your own risk.
The length must be adjusted in a way that reaching a place with risk of falling from a height can be AVOIDED. When climbing poles,
the lanyard has to be looped round the pole in a way that free fall is limited to 0.5 m at the most. The karabiner has to be hooked to the
anchor point or, if looped round a pole, into the second attachment element. An eventual screw retention has to be fastened in order
to avoid unintentional opening. When looping round poles pay attention not to damage the lanyard on sharp edges!
The lanyard can also be used as (edge tested) rig and added on the upper end of the flexible anchor line. This can be used to bridge
edges and avoid damage to the flexible anchor line (rope). Please take care that the sharp edge tested rope with steel rope core can
be damaged; therefore always use the edge protector, if possible.
The sharp edge rope EDGER can also be used as lanyard for tree care work - please take note that this is not 100% protection
against cutting by the chainsaw! Modern chainsaws can easily cut a work positioning rope with steel rope core.
The euroline® SHARP EDGE ROPE „EDGER“ of 6 mm and 8 mm has been tested and certified in combination with the already
certified rope adjusters
•
ART Positioner 2
•
ISC Mini Ropegrab (version with screw und version with pin)
•
ISC Maxi Ropegrab (version with screw und version with pin)
•
Petzl Microcender

Petzl Micrograb
Therefore these rope adjusters can be used with the euroline® SHARP EDGE ROPE „EDGER“ of 6 mm and 8 mm. The correct
assembly of the rope adjuster is up to the user or a competent person. A. Haberkorn & Co GmbH is not liable for the above mentioned
rope adjusters - only for their function in combination with the euroline® SHARP EDGE ROPE „EDGER“ of 6 mm and 8 mm.
Euroline® lanyards must not be combined with any other than CE-marked elements of personal fall protective equipment. Their use
with any kind of lifting device is not admissible.
The lanyards may only be increased or complemented with connectors according to EN 362, with lanyards according to EN 354 and
absorption elements according to EN 355. The total maximum length, the adjustable maximum lanyard kar tape fall
ab other connectors must not exceed 2 m.
If a lanyard is used in a fall arrester system, a fall shock absorber must be installed reducing the maximum dynamic forces to 6 kN
max (e.g.: tape fall absorber according to EN 355). When used in a fall arrest system, a full body harness according to EN 361 is
obligatory.
For safety reasons it is always recommended to use fall arrest systems as restraint systems, because of the existing big residual
risks in case of a fall!
Before use in a fall arrester system ensure that the required free space is guaranteed in order to prevent impact on the ground, on
objects (e.g. scaffolding parts, machine parts, etc….) or swinging.
Lanyards without fall shock absorber may only be used for work positioning and in restraint systems.
The length of restraint systems must be chosen in a way that an eventual risk zone for a fall from a height cannot be reached.
ATTENTION:
The use of two lanyards with an absorption element each in parallel is not admitted!
If you work with a double lanyard (Y-system), always hook in both lanyard arms. The free end of the lanyard
must not be hooked/secured in the full body harness! Otherwise the system will be bypassed and the tape
fall absorber bridged / excluded in case of a fall.
The required length adjustment of the lanyard must not be carried out in areas at risk from falling from a
height! A slack lanyard should be avoided - it increases the fall distance / height of fall!
Knotted and/or entangled straps reduce the tensile strength of the slings up to 60%. Therefore any kind of knotted and
entangled straps must be avoided. Lanyards must be discarded immediately after a load such as after a fall and must not
be used anymore.
The euroline® lanyards must be protected from any kind of damage when being.
