Grounding requirements
Using a good grounding system to protect your access controller against lightning shocks, interferences,
and ESD is essential to the operating reliability of your access controller.
Make sure that the resistance between the chassis and the ground is less than 1.5 ohm.
Power supply requirements
For more information about power supply requirements, see the chapter “Access controller overview.”
Installation planning
Make a good plan concerning the installation location, networking mode, power supply and cabling
arrangement before starting installation.
Space requirements
For adequate ventilation and ease of maintenance, adhere to the following requirements:
•
The clearance between the cabinet and walls or other devices is at least 1 m (3.28 ft).
•
The headroom in the equipment room is no less than 3 m (9.84 ft.).
Cabinet-mounting requirements
Before mounting the access controller in a standard 19-inch cabinet, adhere to the following
requirements:
•
Mount the access controller in an open cabinet if possible. If a closed cabinet is used, make sure
that the cabinet is equipped with a good heat dissipation system.
•
The cabinet is sturdy enough to support the access controller and installation accessories.
•
Make sure that the cabinet fits the size of the access controller, with adequate clearance at both
sides of the access controller chassis to allow good heat dissipation.
