8.
Clean up the residual thermal silicone grease. Use an isopropyl alcohol wiping cloth to clean
the processor top and the radiator surface to ensure that the surface is clean and tidy.
Installing a processor
1.
Install the clamping piece on the radiator.
a.
Close the wrench on the clamping piece.
2.
Make sure that the wrench on the clamping piece is closed; otherwise the processor may not be
installed in place.
3.
Align the corner with the triangle mark on the clamping piece with the corner with a notch on the
radiator, place and press down the clamping piece until you hear a clatter, when the four
corners of the clamping piece and the four corners of the radiator are tightly buckled.
4.
Apply thermal silicone grease to the radiator. Use a thermal silicone grease syringe to extrude
0.6 ml of thermal silicone grease, and then apply the thermal silicone grease evenly to the
surface of the radiator according to the five-spot method.
CAUTION:
Before the operation, make sure that the radiator surface has been cleaned and is free of
residual thermal silicone grease.
5.
Install the processor to the clamping piece.
CAUTION:
When taking the processor, hold the edge of the processor carefully without touching the
contact on the bottom of the processor, to avoid damaging the processor.
6.
Tilt the processor so that the corner with the triangle mark on the processor is aligned with that
with the triangle mark on the clamping piece. Meanwhile, clamp one end of the processor to the
buckle at one end of the clamping piece, hold one end of the radiator using two thumbs, and
push hard the other side of the processor towards the thumb side and place the processor
downward at the same time.
a.
Force apart the buckle around the clamping piece outward until the buckle catches the
processor so that the processor can be installed in place.
7.
Install the radiator with the processor and the clamping piece on the server.
CAUTION:
Be sure to paste the barcode label delivered with the processor on the side of the radiator to
cover the original barcode label on the radiator; otherwise H3C will be unable to provide
subsequent warranty service for the processor.
a.
Align the triangle on the clamping piece with the corner with a notch on the processor base,
align the four screw holes on the radiator with the four guide pins on the processor base,
and place the radiator on the CPU base downward.
b.
Pull the four threads to the locking position to lock the radiator with the processor.
