Expanded Disassembly and Cleaning Procedures
Caution The matching tapers machined on the mixing chamber and the
center hole in the
Model D Gun
block hold the chamber in place and create
the hydraulic seal between the gun block and the mixing chamber. When
handling or cleaning these pieces, be extremely careful not to mar or
damage the finish on either part as it could affect the liquid seal when the
parts are assembled together.
Important
Metal tools should not be used to clean either of these parts, otherwise
damage may result
1.
CLOSE BOTH MANUAL VALVES
2.
REMOVE SCREEN SCREW ASSEMBLY-flush the assembly and
place it in gun cleaner.
3.
REMOVE CHECK VALVES-flush and place them in gun cleaner.
4.
FLUSH SCREEN SCREW AND CHECK VALVE PORTS.
5.
REMOVE AIR CAP-unscrew
the air cap from the tip of the
mixing chamber and place it in
gun cleaner.

NOTE: The felt wiper
assembly should always be
loosened but not removed
before the valving rod
assembly is removed.
6.
REMOVE VALVING ROD-
Grasping the knurled section of
the spring retainer case push in
and rotate counter clockwise to
remove from the air cylinder.
After the spring retainer case has
been removed, pull the spring
out of the air cylinder.
