4. Putting into operation
In order to comply with the „Directive BGR 232 for power-operated
windows, doors and shutters“, automatic door and window drives must
be inspected for reliable functioning by a trained expert before initial
commissioning. The functional inspection must be repeated at yearly
intervals.
The directive is issued by the „German association of commercial and
industrial workers“. It enhances §§ 9, 10 and 11 of the „Ordinance on
workplaces“ as well as §§ 28 and 29 der accident prevention regulation
„General guidelines“ (VBG 1).
4.1 Procedure
Put the locking drive into operation as described in the following. This
procedure ensures for a trouble-free commissioning of the locking drive.
„ „ On locking drives not installed, carry out all connections according to
section „3.4.2 Wiring diagram for ELTRAL VAN - 24 V“ on page 43.
„ „ Then switch on the control voltage in order to check the motion of the
male claw.
If necessary, correct the travel by switching the DIP switch (see section
„4.2 Setting the travel and the operating mode“ on page 46).
If the lock operates correctly, switch the locking motor to position
„CLOSE“.
„ „ Now switch the control voltage off and disconnect the window drive.
„ „ Mount the completely connected locking drive with striker plate
screwed on.
„ „ Then hang out the window drive and open the window sash.
„ „ Switch the control voltage to the „OPEN“ position. The deadbolt of
the locking drive opens and the window drive hung out moves to the
„OPEN“ position.
