Segment Defects by Profiles Format
The Segment Defects by Profiles file contains a list of the percent defects for each profile in the selected
playback file or playback range on a segment-by-segment basis. The segment length used for the export is
the segment interval specified in the Export Settings.
The table provides defect information at the selected segment length (which is defined in the Export
Options as the “Output Segment Interval”). The information in each column is described below:
Start Distance:
Starting distance of the interval.
Start Station:
This column is present when “Use Stationing Format” is checked in the Project
Properties.
Segment Length:
The length within the segment that contains data. This may be less than the segment
length at the beginning and/or end of the file or selected playback range.
Lateral Offset:
The position of the profile that the data were obtained relative to the lateral offset
reference. The ‘L’ and ‘R’ appended to the number indicate if the lateral offset is to the left or right of the
reference line looking in the increasing distance direction.
#Measurements:
Number of valid measurements used in the % Defective calculation
Percent Defective:
The percentage of the data within the segment that meets the defective criteria
defined by the defect threshold value.
