Gateway Installation — Overview

The GrainVue outdoor communications gateway system comes with a pre-built and mounted MikroTik
LtAP unit. Throughout this section, various antennas will need to be installed and connected to this base
unit. A Gateway Power Supply Unit (PSU) is also provided to supply power remotely to the gateway over
standard, shielded category 5e data cable.

The maximum distance for gateway communications in a typical environment, with a clear line of sight,
should be no more than 2,000 m or 6,565 ft. Recommended installation locations for PSU(s) and
Gateway(s) are provided on a custom site map.
