9. Servicing the solution
Check the pump or pumps for functionality and tightness.
We recommend that the pump or pumps are checked at
least once a year.
WARNING
Risk of scalding
Death or serious personal injury
‐
Disconnect the mains supply in the event of steam re-
lease due to a leak.
‐
Open the drain valves slowly to release pres-
sure when draining the pump or pumps.
WARNING
Risk of scalding
Death or serious personal injury
‐
Make sure that the system has cooled down when
working on uninsulated pipe sections or similar.
‐
Make sure that the system is drained slowly.
‐
Close the main valves before carrying out any work on
hydraulic parts. Make sure that the main valves are in
a completely closed position and that the lock is en-
gaged.
WARNING
Risk of scalding
Death or serious personal injury
‐
Use personal protective equipment according to local
regulations when you install the insulating pads.
DANGER
Slippery surface
Death or serious personal injury
‐
Use personal protective equipment.
WARNING
Electric shock
Death or serious personal injury
‐
Disconnect the power supply before starting any elec-
trical work or in the event of the solution being flooded.
Lock the supply disconnecting device to avoid uninten-
tional reconnection.
‐
Follow the instructions in the service instructions for
the pump and motor.
‐
Do not clean the solution with a high-pressure cleaner.
‐
Make sure that any control panels and internal pipe in-
stallations are connected to earth.
CAUTION
Hot surface
Minor or moderate personal injury
‐
Use personal protective equipment when working at
the solution.
It is possible to sign a service contract with a local Grundfos
company.
9.1 Accessing the solution
Make sure that the door lock at the building or technical
room is checked according to local regulations.
We recommend that the door lock at the building or tech-
nical room is checked at least once a year.
Damage to the locking devices must be remedied immedi-
ately. Contact Grundfos.
Contact Grundfos service for repair in case of damage to
the solution.
WARNING
Pinch hazard
Death or serious personal injury
‐
Make sure that work at the solution is carried out by
the same operator.
The iGRID Pressure and Temperature Zone solution is designed
and optimised for easy access to electrical components via an open
construction. When finishing work at the solution, the area must be
securely closed off and locked to prevent unwanted access.
Check the access routes and the locking mechanism at least once
a year.
All work at the solution must be carried out according to
local regulations.
Always place warning signs and safety guards around
the solution when working on it to ensure that persons and
vehicles do not walk or drive into it. The warning signs
must be clearly marked and visible from all sides.
9.1.1 Isolating valves
Make sure to operate the isolating valves at least once ev-
ery 6 months to ensure they are functional.
9.2 Replacing a pump
To replace a pump in the iGRID Pressure and Temperature
Zone solution, do the following:
1. Disconnect the power supply.
2. Make sure that the pipe system connected to the pump is
isolated from the district heating pipe system and that the valves
cannot be unintentionally reconnected.
3. Depressurise the pipe system, and drain it slowly of district
heating water.
4. Drain the pump of water if possible.
5. Disconnect the cables connected to the pump power supply.
6. Dismantle the wiring connections to the sensors connected
directly to the pump, and retract them to the sensor.
7. Loosen and remove the bolts and nuts in the flange.
8. Loosen and remove the bolts and nuts in the motor bracket.
9. Mount the new pump by following the procedure in reverse.
