Allow the glue to set hard, then fit the nacelle in such a way that the two locating tabs
engage in the slots, and the nacelle is securely held on the wing. Drill holes through
both nacelles on both sides, and fit two pan-head self-tapping screws on either side
to fix the nacelle in place.
The wheel axles and wheels can now be fitted to the spring struts. Note that the
wheels should have about 3° toe-in on each side when the undercarriage is
extended. ‘Toe-in’ means that the wheels point slightly inwards (towards each other)
at the front. Apply thread-lock fluid to the grubscrews to prevent them working loose.
Fitting the spinners and propellers
Fit the spinner backplate, the propeller and the washer on the propeller driver, and fit
the hexagon nut to secure the parts. Repeat with the second assembly.
Fit the spinner cap over the propeller; you may need to trim the notches in the
spinner cap to clear the propeller; this varies according to the propeller type you are
using. Fix the spinner cap to the backplate using the retaining screws supplied in the
set.
When fitting the spinner cap ensure that it engages fully in the peripheral channel in
the backplate.
Installing the glowplug motors
If you intend to fit glow motors, please note that the motor mount side panels first
have to be shortened as shown in the photo.
Drill holes in the firewall to suit the plastic motor mount.
Press the captive nuts into the holes so that their flange rests flat on the back of the
firewall. Apply a few drops of cyano to prevent them falling out.
When gluing the motor mount between the side panels please note that the motor
should be installed with the cylinder head angled down to the right; this dictates the
position of the plastic mount.
The triangular fillets can now be glued in the corners on both sides. Allow the glue to
set hard, then install the plastic motor mount.
The screws must be secured with a drop of thread-lock fluid to prevent them working
loose.
Place the motor on the motor mount as shown in the photo, mark the position of the
screw-holes on the arms of the mount, then drill the holes the appropriate diameter.
Repeat the whole procedure with the second motor.
The motors should not be attached to the motor mounts until the fueltanks have been
installed.
