Cleaning
ATTENTION!
❐
Danger of electrocution!
Before every disassembly of the accessories, turn the device
off and pull the mains plug out of the socket!
❐
Risk of electrocution and damage to property due to incorrect handling of the
device!
No liquid may penetrate the motor unit. Penetrating liquid may cause a short cir-
cuit and set the device on
fi
re. For this reason, never immerse the motor unit, mains cord
and plug in water and do not rinse off the motor unit under running water.
❐
Never clean the device and all its components in the dishwasher.
❐
Never clean the grinding mechanism with wet brushes. Moisture in the grinding mecha-
nism causes the coffee powder to clump during the grinding process and may damage, plug
or jam the grinding mechanism.
❐
When cleaning, do not use any scouring or abrasive cleaners. They could damage the sur-
face. Do not use any metallic objects.
❐
Do not attempt to lubricate the grinding mechanism.
By regularly cleaning the device, you can keep the grinding mechanism in proper functioning
order and also achieve good, consistent results for very
fi
ne coffee powder. This also prevents
any residue in the grinding mechanism from affecting the aroma and
fl
avour.
1. Dispose of any leftover coffee beans. Then brie
fl
y activate the grinding mechanism to re-
move any leftover coffee beans from the grinding mechanism.
2. Switch off the device and remove the plug from the electrical socket.
3. The top grinding disc can be removed for cleaning. Turn the disc somewhat counterclock-
wise to loosen it and then pull it out.
4. Use a brush to brush off the grinding disc and the inside of the funnel tube.
5. Place the top grinding disc back in the funnel tube. In the process, turn it back and forth
somewhat until it is completely on the bottom grinding disc in the bottom of the funnel
tube. Then turn the top grinding disc clockwise until tight. Make sure that the disc is se-
curely positioned.
6. Empty the coffee compartment, rinse it and the lid off with warm water and a small
amount of detergent.
7. Also brush off the outlet for the coffee powder (9) and wipe the housing of the coffee
grinder off with a damp cloth.
8. Dry the parts thoroughly before reassembling and stowing the device. The grinding disc
and funnel tube in particular should be completely dry.
9. Store the device in a clean, dry, frost-free area that is not accessible to children.
