– 7 - 9 high coarseness for e.g. coffee plungers, percolators, hand brewed coffees, Turkish
coffee
Consult the operating instructions of your coffee maker to determine its type and the
corresponding setting.
7. With the slider (5), select the grinding time and/or the desired amount of coffee (one in-
crement roughly corresponds to one measuring spoon of coffee beans). The scale serves
only as a reference. After all,
fi
ne coffee powder must be ground longer than coarse coffee
powder. Note: If the slider is located all the way to the left, the device cannot be turned on.
8. Insert the mains plug (9) in a properly installed, easily accessible socket.
9. Turn on the coffee grinder by pushing the On/Off switch (4). The coffee beans will drop
into the grinding mechanism where they are ground up by the grinding discs. Then the
coffee powder is moved into the coffee compartment. Once the preset grinding time has
expired, the device automatically deactivates.
10. You can also turn the device off early by pushing the On/Off switch again.
11. Then disconnect the device from the power supply, pull out the coffee compartment, open
it and remove the coffee powder.
12. If you want to grind more coffee, wait approximately 1 to 2 minutes before you turn the
device back on.
13. Clean the coffee grinder after every use so that the aroma and
fl
avour of the coffee are not
affected by any residue in the grinding mechanism (see chapter “Cleaning”).
Tips for best results
• Coffee aroma and strength vary according to one’s own taste. Try different types of cof-
fee to see what you like best. You can also try different quantities and grinding settings in
order to
fi
nd the aroma that appeals to you the most.
• Only use freshly roasted coffee beans. You should prefer packages that specify the roast-
ing date.
• Store the coffee beans in a dark, cool and dry place in a vacuum-packed container.
• Only purchase small quantities in order to achieve the shortest possible storage time. Do
not store the coffee beans for longer than one week.
• Once coffee has been ground, it quickly loses its
fl
avour and aroma. For best results, you
should grind the coffee directly before use.
• Do not leave coffee beans in the funnel tube for a prolonged period of time.
• If you do not use the device for a prolonged period of time, allow the grinding mechanism
with the funnel tube empty, to run for a short period to remove any leftover coffee beans
from the grinding mechanism.
• For very fresh coffee powder, let the grinding mechanism run for approximately 2 seconds
each time before you use the device.
• Clean the funnel tube, grinding mechanism and coffee compartment regularly (see chapter
“Cleaning”).
