5.  NORMAL OPERATION

Cleaning Cycle

1.

Once the system is filled with

ScaleBreak®

 and water, turn the

Main Pump

Switch

ON (up position).

2.

For a closed vessel, the lid of the Venting Drum should always be securely

fastened to avoid splash.

3.

  Make sure

Chemical Pickup Hose

in fully inserted into chemical container.

4.

 Slide

pH Controller Switch

to

“AUTO”.

5.

As scale and deposits are dissolved, the pH of the

ScaleBreak®

 Decaling

Solution will tend to rise. The

pH Sensor

 and

pH Controller

 will sense this

and inject concentrated

ScaleBreak®

into the system, lowering the pH to the

optimal level.

6.

After one hour of no chemical injection, the

"CLEANING IN PROGRESS"

 light

will go out. This generally means that all the scale has been dissolved. (no rise

in pH as scale is fully dissolved).

Venting Drum / Overfill alarm

 WARNING:

In a closed vessel system, the Venting Drum serves two functions – to

vent any fumes from the descaling operation, and to provide extra volume for the

chemical injected into the system. To prevent the overfilling of the Venting Drum

if too much chemical is added, the GDS-15-PH are equipped with an

“OVERFILL

ALARM”

Lamp. Also, the GDS-15-PH has an automatic chemical pump shut-off

circuit. If the Venting Drum is full, the Chemical Pump will be disabled and will not

inject anymore chemical into the system until the liquid level in the drum

is reduced.

If the red "OVERFILL ALARM" Lamp is lit, the Venting Drum is full:

1.

Shut down the unit by turning the

Main Pump Switch

Off (down position).

2.

 Slide

pH Controller Switch

to

“OFF”

.

3.

If a hose is connected to

Valve #2

 (Pump Input Valve):

3a. Close

Valve #2

3b.   Close the valve on the hose connected to

Valve #2

, then disconnect

the hose.

4.

   Open

Valve #2

(Pump Input Valve) and drain at least 5 gallons (19 L) of solution

into a suitable container.

5.

If cleaning an open vessel, reconnect the hose, then open

Valve #2

 and the

hose valve.

6.

   Flip

Main Pump Switch

On and slide

pH Controller Switch

to “Auto” to continue

cleaning.
