OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. CALIBRATE THE PH SENSOR BEFORE INSERTING IT INTO
THE PIPING SYSTEM
Calibrating the pH Controller
1.
The
pH Sensor
and
pH Controller
should be calibrated before every use.
2.
Make sure the unit is plugged in and the GFCI is reset.
3.
Remove pH Sensor Tip Cap.
IMPORTANT - DO NOT LOSE CAP!!
(Place cap in
storage area)

4.
Before calibration, rinse
pH Sensor
with clean water to remove excess
storage solution.
5.
Place the tip of the
pH Sensor
into a container with pure ScaleBreak
®
and
slowly swish around. Wait until the reading stabilizes - the
pH Controller
should
read
0.5
for
ScaleBreak®
, or
1.5
for
ScaleBreak
®
-SS
. If needed, insert a small
screwdriver into the CAL opening on the pH Controller, and turn until the
reading is correct. If you cannot calibrate the sensor it may be damaged - Call
Goodway for more information.
To Check the Calibration:
1.
Rinse
pH Sensor
with clean water. Open a 7.01
packet - place the tip of the
pH Sensor
into the
packet and slowly swish around. Wait until the
reading stabilizes. pH reading should be
7.0 ± 0.5.
2.
Rinse
pH Sensor
with clean water to remove
excess solution. Open a 4.01 packet - Place
the tip of the
pH Sensor
into the packet. slowly
swish around. Wait until the reading stabilizes -
the
pH Controller
should read 4.0 ± 0.5.
Important pH Meter Notes:
• With this type of pH meter, the error is greater
further away from the calibration point. If the
meter is calibrated for a pH of
0.5
or
1.5
, the
reading may be slightly off when using the
calibration packets (pH = 7.0 or 4.0).
