Before calling for service check the following list to be sure that a service call is
necessary. Reviewing additional information on items in the following table may prevent
an unneeded service call
PROBLEM
POSSIBLE CAUSES
If nothing on the oven operates
- Check for a blown circuit fuse or a tripped main
circuit breaker.
- Check if oven is properly connected to the electric
circuit in house.
- Check if controls are set properly
If the oven interior light does not
work
- The light bulb is loose or defective
If oven does not cook
- Check that the control panel was programmed
correctly
- Check that the door is firmly closed
- Check that Start/Enter pad was touched
If over takes longer that normal to
cook or cooks too rapidly
- Be sure the power level is programmed properly
If food cooks unevenly
- Be sure that the food is evenly placed
- Be sure that the food is completely defrosted
before cooking
- Check placement of aluminum foil strips used to
prevent over cooking
If food is under cooked
- Check recipe to be sure all directions (amount,
time and power levels) were correctly followed
- Be sure the oven is the only appliance in the
electrical circuit
- Be sure that the food is completely defrosted
before cooking
If food is over cooked
- Check recipe to be sure all directions (amount,
time power levels & size of dish) were correctly
followed
If arcing (sparks) occur
- Be sure microwavable dishes were used.
- Be sure wire-twist ties were not used
- Be sure that the over was not operated when
empty
- Be sure that metal racks is not used in the
microwave mode
