The generating set
stops due to high
temperature
The high temperature
indicator light comes on
1. Check that the generator is not overloaded.
2. Check if the air or water passages of the radiator are clogged.
3. Check for obstructions in the filter or the intake system.
4. Check that the ambient temperature is within the generator
operation range.
5. Check the level of liquid in the cooling system. Do not add large
quantities of liquid when the engine is hot.
6. Refer to the engine handbook.
7. Once the fault has been found and remedied, put the generator
operation switch or the key switch to OFF to reset the alarm.
8. Cool the engine, letting it operate loadless for a few minutes.
9. Check that the phase has earth.
10. Check operation of the thermostatic valve.
11. Check that hot air circulates.
12.
Check if the exhaust is unbalanced.
The generating set
stops due to low oil
pressure
The low oil pressure
indicator light comes on
1. Check the oil level in the pan. If necessary, top up.
2. Refer to the engine handbook.
3. Check the pressure switch. Replace if faulty.
4. Once the fault has been found and remedied, to reset the alarm by
putting the key switch or the generator operation switch to OFF.
The generating set
stops due to excess
speed
If installed, the excess
speed indicator light
comes on
1. Refer to the engine handbook.
2. Once the fault has been found and remedied, to reset the alarm by
putting the key switch or the generator operation switch to OFF.
The generating set
stops due to no fuel
If installed, the no fuel
indicator light comes on
1. Check the fuel level in the tank. If necessary bleed the feed
circuits and top up.
2. Check for obstructions in a fuel pipe and clean.
3. Check automatic filling operation, if installed.
4. Once the fault has been found and remedied, to reset the alarm by
putting the key switch or the generator operation switch to OFF.
The generating set
stops due to overload
If installed, the overload
indicator light comes on
1. Check switch calibration. Change it if necessary.
2. Check that the load can be supported by the generating set.
3. Once the fault has been found and remedied, to reset the alarm by
putting the key switch or the generator operation switch to OFF.
Low water
temperature alarm
If installed the low
temperature or preheating
fault indicator light comes
on
1. Check that the heater switch is in the ON position and the relative
blue indicator light is on.
2. Let the engine cool.
3. Check the water level. If necessary top up with the correct liquid.
4. Check for leaks of liquid from the radiator, engine or pipes. Repair
if necessary.
5. Refer to the engine handbook.
Low fuel alarm
The low fuel warning
light comes on
1. Check the fuel level in the tank. Top up if necessary.
2. Check for obstructions in the fuel pipes. Clean if necessary.
3. Check automatic filling system operation, if installed.
Battery charging
anomaly alarm
If installed, the battery
charging anomaly
indicator light comes on
1. Check that the permanent charging indicator light is on and that
the battery charger is delivering current.
2. Check the battery voltage: 12Vdc or 24Vdc depending on the
system.
3. If the voltage is low and the generator does not operate, recharge
the battery.
4. If the battery charger does not maintain the charge, replace it.
