The Hydran M2-X measures the relative saturation of water in the oil, which gives
the following information:
Relative saturation of the oil at the operation temperature
•
Temperature at which the water will saturate and condense in the oil
•
Estimation of the water percentage in the paper insulation system
For instance, in the calculation of the moisture content in the insulating paper,
the relative saturation is more significant than the absolute water content. The
Hydran M2-X provides directly the relative saturation, thus avoiding inaccuracies
linked with a poorly defined saturation curve.
