Installing the Sensor onto the Valve
1. (Optional) If using a finned adaptor, apply a thermal joint

2.
(Optional) Wrap Teflon tape on the adaptor’s threads
[ ]
3. (Optional) Screw the adaptor onto the valve and tighten it using an adjustable
wrench
[ ]
4.
Wrap Teflon tape on the sensor’s threads
[ ]
5. Loosen the bleed screw
[ ]
6. Install the sensor clamp around the sensor
[ ]
7. Screw the sensor manually onto the valve
[ ]
8.
Tighten the sensor (position the bleed screw at “12 o’clock”)
[ ]
9. Ensure the O-ring is in place on the sensor flange
[ ]
Opening the Valve and Purging Air from the Sensor
1.
Close the sensor’s bleed screw and then open it
1/8 of a turn
[ ]
2. Slowly open partially the transformer valve
[ ]
3. When there are
no more air bubbles
in the oil, shut the bleed screw
[ ]
4. Open the valve completely
[ ]
5. Wipe all traces of oil from the sensor
[ ]
6. Inspect the sensor for oil leaks
[ ]
7. Tighten the bleed screw
[ ]
8. Dispose of the collected oil according to the company regulations
[ ]
Installing the Hydran M2-X on the Sensor
1. Push the sensor cable connector into the sensor connector
[ ]
2. Rotate the connector clockwise (approximately 1/8 of a turn
[ ]
3. Position the enclosure and push the Hydran M2-X onto the sensor
[ ]
4. Install the sensor clamp and tighten it using the spanner wrench
[ ]
5. Tighten the set screw
[ ]
