Description
SUPPLY
FAIL
(None)
When this red light is on, the power supply module has failed.
POWER
When the green power light is on, the CrossConnect is powered. If the CrossConnect
is equipped with a redundant power supply, this light remains on if one of the power
supplies has failed and the remaining supply has enough capacity to power the
CrossConnect by itself.

(None)
The Alarm Cut-Off (ACO) switch enables and disables external alert and alarm relays.
When this switch is in the ON (disabled) position and there is no alert or alarm
condition, the ALERT light is on. When this switch is in the OFF (enabled) position, the
alert and alarm relays are online and can activate a response (visual or audible) to
system fault conditions.
NORMAL
NORMAL
When this green light is on, neither an ALERT nor a FAIL condition exists.

3.4.6
Channel Module Wiring
Input and output connections for each payload channel are made to the module adapters installed
behind the channel modules. Each channel module’s manual gives information on wiring.
It is not necessary to power down an existing system in order to add new channel modules.
If you are adding modules to an existing system equipped with dual power supplies, always verify that
the total power consumption does not exceed the capacity of a single supply, thus ensuring power
supply redundancy.
3.5 Power
After all equipment has been installed and wired, perform these steps to apply power to each shelf:
1.
Verify that all modules (common, channel, and power) are seated snugly.
2.
If the shelf is AC-powered, plug in the AC line cord.
3.
If the shelf is DC-powered, insert the external power fuse.
4.
Verify that the POWER indicator light is on, and the POWER FAIL indicator light is off. In a DCS-
9530, DCS-9560, or DCS-9565, both the MAIN POWER FAIL and REDUNDANT POWER FAIL
indicator lights should be off. To view these DCS indicator lights, remove the front panel and
power supply covers. Ignore all other lights on the shelf for the time being.
