3.4.4.3 MA-251A/MA-252A Map Polling Feature
The map polling feature of the MA-251A/252A module adapter allows the module adapter to poll the
DCS for the current map number. The map number is reported on the module adapter map output
contact (the DB-15 connector in Figure 3-15).

Polling can result in unreliable remote communication on the network, so by default the feature is
disabled. Jumper connection JMP1 controls the polling feature. Since the default setting is disabled,
the jumper is factory installed to connect both pins. To enable map polling, the shunt is only
connected to one side of the jumper (Figure 3-16).
